Futurist consulted Nathan and Liz Yokum, owners of Rock Candy Holds, on the development of their climbing facility business plan and projections. The plan was chosen as one of two co-winners in the University Park Alliance (UPA) Start UP! Business Plan Competition in Akron, OH. The competition was designed to help attract businesses to the University Park neighborhood. The winners each received $17,500, as well as assistance locating a suitable site and ongoing consulting support as they bring their business ideas to fruition.
